Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 September 2026  ·  Applies to the TeeForm Golf Caddie app and teeformgolf.com

1. Overview

TeeForm Golf Caddie ("TeeForm," "the app," "we," "us") is built around one simple rule: your golf game is yours. There's no TeeForm server and no TeeForm account — the app runs entirely on your phone, and your shot history, club distances and course plans are stored only in your device's own local storage.

This policy explains the few places data does leave your device — sending your location to map and weather providers so the app can function, and sharing your email with our payments partner if you start a trial or buy a subscription — and exactly what each of those involves.

2. Location & GPS data

TeeForm uses your phone's GPS to find the course you're standing on, measure distances, and show you the right satellite imagery. We don't operate a server, so your location is never sent to us or stored by us. It is sent, in real time, to the third-party services listed in Section 5 so they can return a map tile, a course boundary, or a weather reading for that spot — the same way any mapping or weather app works.

TeeForm is deliberately battery-light about this: most distances come from a single instant GPS fix rather than continuous tracking. Live-tracking mode is opt-in, and it automatically stops when you switch away from the app, change tabs, or log a shot.

3. Your shots & rounds

Every club you add, every shot you log, every round you play, and every course plan you save is written only to your device's local browser storage. None of it is transmitted to TeeForm, to any analytics service, or to any third party.

  • No account is required to use the app's core rangefinder, shot-logging and club-recommendation features.
  • You can export a full backup of your data at any time from within the app, and import it again on a new device — that file is yours, stored wherever you choose to keep it.
  • Uninstalling the app or clearing your browser's site data deletes this data permanently — we have no copy to recover it from, since we never had one.

4. Purchases & licensing

TeeForm's paid tiers and free trial are sold and managed through Freemius, our checkout and licensing partner. When you start a trial or make a purchase, we share only your email address with Freemius so they can issue and manage your license. Payment details (card number, etc.) are entered directly into Freemius's own checkout and are never seen by TeeForm. On our website, Freemius's checkout is loaded only when you tap a Buy now link, not when you simply browse.

Freemius also assigns your device a randomly generated installation identifier so your license can be activated on (and later removed from) a specific device — this identifier isn't tied to your name or any other personal information TeeForm holds, since TeeForm holds none.

Freemius's handling of your email and payment information is governed by Freemius's own Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to read. You can view or manage your license, devices and account directly at Freemius's customer portal, customers.freemius.com.

5. Third-party services

These are the only services TeeForm communicates with. Each receives only what it needs to do its one job — none of them receive your name, your shot history, or any way to identify you personally beyond the data described below.

ServiceWhat it's used forWhat it receives
MapboxSatellite map imageryMap tile coordinates derived from your location

None of these providers are paid or instructed by TeeForm to build advertising profiles from this data, and TeeForm does not sell or share your data with anyone for marketing purposes.

6. This website (teeformgolf.com)

The marketing website you're reading this on does not currently use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers of any kind. If that changes in the future, this policy will be updated to say so before any such tool is added.

7. Your choices & control

  • Location permission can be revoked at any time in your phone's system settings — the rangefinder and course-detection features simply won't work without it.
  • Your on-device data is fully exportable, importable, and deletable by you, at any time, from within the app.
  • Your license and email held by Freemius can be viewed, updated, or requested for deletion via customers.freemius.com, or by contacting us (see Section 11) and we'll pass the request on.

8. Children's privacy

TeeForm is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Freemius through the app, please contact us and we'll help you have it removed.

9. International users

TeeForm is operated from Australia. Because the app itself stores your golf data only on your own device, most of the usual cross-border data-transfer concerns simply don't arise for that data. The limited data that is shared — your location with the map/weather providers above, and your email with Freemius — is handled under each of those providers' own privacy policies and applicable regional protections (including GDPR for users in the EU/UK, where relevant).

10. Changes to this policy

If we change what data TeeForm collects or how it's used, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app itself where practical.

11. Contact us

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to contact@teeformgolf.com.

Note for Ged: this page is a solid working draft, not a substitute for professional legal advice. Before relying on it — especially once real payments and EU/US/UK users are involved — it's worth a quick review by a lawyer familiar with Australian Privacy Principles, GDPR and CCPA as applicable, and adding your registered business name/ABN where relevant.
